How to Set up LuxPlay

LuxPlay is a simple module that when plugged into any projector turns it into a LuxHome device. Here is a step by step instruction for how to get it connected!

Shipping with your LuxPlay device are three plugs, each of which needing to be plugged into the module:

MicroHDMI to HDMI: Highlighted in the image above, the microHDMI end of the cable needs to be plugged into the LuxPlay module, with the HDMI end plugged into any HDMI port in your projector. This will transmit images from the Luxedo software to your projector.

USB-C Power Supply: The power supply block will need to be plugged into an outlet, and the USB-C will need to be plugged into the highlighted port above. This cable powers the LuxPlay system.

RS232 to USB-A: Plug the USB-A end into the LuxPlay module, and the wider end into your projector's RS232 slot. On most projectors, this will allow you to power on your device from the Luxedo App.

Not included with your system, but necessary:

The last piece of the puzzle is a camera. The only technical requirement for a camera is that it plug in via USB-A, so it can be plugged into the back of the LuxPlay, but there is an extra caveat. Every projector is different and comes with a different throw ratio, which means that no one camera is equipped to capture calibration images for all of them. As a result, you will need to provide your own camera. If you have a webcam available, you can try this with just a webcam and see if it can effectively capture the entire calibration space.

You will only need the camera to be plugged in during calibration, once calibration is complete you can unplug the camera.
